We made this hood ornament in the early 1970’s for old school hot rods. After being seen, by a prop department on Van Nuys blvd, in the early 1970’s, a few were purchased for Sam Peckinpah’s movie … “Convoy” Staring: Kris Kristofferson As Martin 'Rubber Duck' Penwald.

In 2004 I found the mold on a dusty old shelf in our storage room. After some cleaning and adding some detail back, I decided to re-release it. After an overwhelming response to the return of the “Duck”, I was contacted by Quentin Tarantino’s prop dept., requesting the use of the ”Duck” to be featured as the hood ornament in the movie… “Death Proof” Staring: Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike, now you can have an exact copy of that Convoy / Death Proof Duck Hood Ornament. This is the same hood ornament cast from the same mold as the ones in the movies Convoy & Death Proof.

If you’ve seen the motion pictures Death Proof or Convoy you’ve noticed the angry rubber duck hood ornament. Now you can have an exact duplicate of that same hood ornament. They are hand cast from the original mold that was used to produce the duck for the movies. These are the real deal from the “original mold”. The “Rubber Duck” hood ornament is copy written! It is hand cast in a zinc alloy, hand filed to remove any seams, then polished and plated in copper. and then bright nickel. The Duck is 8″ long x 5″ tall and it has 2 – 1/4 20 studs cast into the base for mounting.

This has turned into a love of all things Convoy and Death Proof.
